Madison City School System Drug Testing Program
Madison City School System is introducing a drug testing program.
The details of the program have been made public and provide useful information for other school systems considering school drug testing.
Below are the consequences of a positive test:
a. First positive screen or refusal - The student will be suspended from extracurricular activities and use of parking privileges for two weeks.
b. Second positive screen or refusal - The student will be suspended from extracurricular activities and use of parking privileges for twelve weeks, or the remainder of the then current semester, whichever last expires.
c. Third positive screen or refusal - The student will be suspended from extracurricular activities and use of parking privileges for one calendar year.
d. Fourth positive screen or refusal - The student will be barred from extracurricular activities and use of parking privileges for the remainder of his/her attendance in Madison City Schools.
