DaytaTree provides drug testing software that is delivered as a service rather than an installed package like traditional drug testing software. So we have been describing our drug testing software as a service rather than just “drug testing software“. The concept should in theory be easy for everyone to understand due to the common use of software services delivered over the Internet such as email (Hotmail, Gmail, etc). However, most of DaytaTree’s initial customers are looking for drug testing software rather than an online service. Does that meant that DaytaTree is just one step too far ahead of its customers at the moment?

To add to the potential confusion, because DaytaTree’s drug testing software is actually delivered as a service, DaytaTree has concentrated on the value that service provides to its users (DaytaTree’s customers) - starting with the fact that the service helps users improve compliance with their drug testing policies. So not only is DaytaTree not marketing itself as a provider of drug testing software, it is not even focusing on the basic advantages of drug testing software like cutting the administration costs, providing reports, automated results delivery, and so on.

Should DaytaTree start calling itself a provider of Drug Testing Software?

This would mean describing the advantages of DaytaTree’s drug testing software features such as integration with drug testing laboratories, automated delivery of test results, and safe storage of data.
