Drug Testing Prisoners

A community safety spokesman, John Lamont, for the opposition Conservative Party in Scotland has called for drug testing of all prisoners, including on entry to the prison system and throughout their stay. The call for prisoner drug testing was made as Scotland’s Community Safety Minister Fergus Ewing announced that drug treatment and testing orders (DTTOs) are to be extended to petty offenders. The order only applies in two test regions, Lothian and Borders, and only applies to seriouis criminals.
